Farm Visit

My son is turning 9 . Last week we talk about how we will celebrate his birthday. As a winter child these past 6 years we celebrated his birthday indoors due to chilly weather. This year we are staying in Jakarta with 29 degree almost everyday. Wow..what a life, this year we are escaping winter, no more below 0 C degree.

Anyway, I told Omar that birthday is not always about big celebration or big party. Birthday also means spending quality time with people that he loves or doing hobbies that he likes. So we talked about any possible activities we might do on his birthday.

It turned out there is a new nursery Kuntum Farm Field in Bogor that we haven't visit yet. Children can pet baby animals and feed sheep and cows with milk bottle. It's a perfect choice for his birthday since we are going to invite Omar cousins too (which are still in their toddler years).

So yesterday we went there and the children love every minute of it.

Color Me Happy

It's August. Time to be happy for me. I am turning 34 years old this time, and all I want this year is simply blessing all the gift of life and to open my eyes absorbing the beauty surround me. Memorizing every bit of colors and save it on small compartments inside my head. Each has its own warm feeling. I want to hold on to this happy feeling forever, hold it close to my chest knowing it's a safe harbor to come back to.

Finally, I have a chance to sit and write today. This month always hold special moment for me and especially this year, I am spending this August in DA for the first time and Ramadhan is also starting in the middle of this month.

My first special moment this month is..of course my bday..yay..happy bday to me !! Though I blew up the candle with my loved ones, I still feel awfully missing my friends and family back in Jakarta. I bought black forest cake here as Germany was well known for its Schwarz-Wald Torte and it tasted damn good. Though I still miss my favorite black forest ice cake from Vineth in Jakarta.

We went to have sushi for diner that day and about my wishes..I still go with the classic wishes..

The other special moment for me this year is that I'm having my first Ramadhan In DA. Away from my family and friends, just the three of us. I must say I miss all the casualties of fasting month in Jakarta, especially the food that are served to break our fast...boy oh boy..am salivating now just to imagine es teler and bakso cak man...yummy...and what I miss most is the gathering...friends gathering, family gathering that always happen during ramadhan month...man..I really want to be there....

Anyway, we are planning to have dinner with my neighbor tonight. They are a couple from Columbia and Germany. I am going to cook opor ayam and gado - gado so they can taste some Indonesian food (wish me luck on that !!). B'day present for Uti

A month of December is full of birthdays of our loved ones. After my son and my husband birthday...today is my mother in law's bday. My son, Omar, is thinking of giving her a birthday presents. Something from his own creation.Couple months ago I enrolled him to an arts and craft class. He likes creating something and he has interest on beautiful things. I told him it will be more personal if he gives his grandma a birthday present from his own creation...
But he and I can not decide which of his handycrafts to choose for his grandma as a special birthday present. Please help us choose :
Omar made this colourful frame by himself in his Art and Craft Class..We love this frame because its unique color combination..
However this hot pink elephant is also irresistable. Omar loves hot shocking pink colors...this elephant is one of his masterpiece (ehm)..AAhh it is sooo confusing when you have to chose one of these. Soo what do you think, which one to give Omar beloved grandmother, Uti...

Birthday Bash

Omar requested us to throw him a birthday party...so we had a small luncheon today for my son 4th bday party...nothing fancy..just friends and families small gathering...but it was fun..and I hope everybody enjoyed our event today !
and today is also happen to be my husband birthday..happy bday hubby...nice to know you have your first snow in Darmstadt in this very day...

Happy 4th Birthday baby !

Today is my son 4th birthday.I took him to see dolphin and sea lions show at Gelanggang Samudra Ancol, Jakarta. He was amused with the show and claimed to have the best birth-day so far.. want to know what he wants for his birthday present ?
He wants this little puppy..inside a cage in his favorite petshop...but as we plan to go back to Germany.. I don't think I could make his bday wish come true this year..too bad..

A Birthday to Remember

I can’t believe I am having another birthday in this hospital again. This is Omar’s second time being hospitalized, and both times are on my birth days. The first one was back on 2006, when omar was just 7 months old and was diagnosed with rota virus infections, and now here we are again, different room, same hospital…aw man!

Having a birthday bash at one of the hospital room is definitely not on anyone wishing list (especially if the sick one is your child). But hey, today is my birthday and I’ve just got to make the best out of it. It’s my special day, once a year so everything looks bright from the corner of my eyes…(puhleezze…)..

Today is actually a happy birth day for me. A lot of things to be blessed…first.. starting with the day of 01.08.08 begins at 00.00, my husband mobile reminder started to beep (what ?#$#@ do u need a reminder for ur wife bdays ??^%$#)…. It was beeping several time but he was fast asleep, leaving me disturbed by the annoying sound. On 00.15, Omar coughed and threw up, I had to wake my husband and so I did. After we finished changing omar clothes and put him back to sleep, my husband congratulate me (and said he was the first person who remember and congratulate me..plis deh aw) afterward he gave me a b’day presents. Awww…it’s really made my day… it’s Paolo Coelho’s Life-Selected Quotations book…love it….thank u hubby..

By midday Omar’s pediatrician gave permission for him to go home and so we checked out from the hospital ASAP. After I arrived at home, Omar blew candles on my birthday cake and I was so happy to see so many birthday wishes messages from my dear friends & families on my facebook page. Ahhh what a day, if only I can make it last…..
