I was sooo excited to see the result of the children's arts in my son kindergarten this week.
They were inspired by the Hundertwasser building, a landmark of the city that we're living now. The Architect, Herr Friedensreich Hundertwasser built this building from used materials and he thought a lot about recycling materials and re-using water from raindrops as the water resources for residents of this building.
Back to little maestro creations, the idea was to give them a theme for their artworks and this building with its unique irregular grid and colorful stones took the children's imagination wandered to extinguished paintings and artworks.

Their paintings are so colorful, one adult mind can not bear the thought of what was really inside the mind of these little painters. Their interpretation of the building as a theme are beyond our expectations. Every painting is different... exotic colors and bright imagination created authenticity and bring out the little painters personal characters.
Not only painting, they also formed their fantasies into creative arts that were unique and authentic.
They even create a colorful stones into creation inspired by the wall spiral built from stones that has been craved on the building site.
All of the praise goes to the teachers who have the brilliant idea to make these children imaginations turned into reality. Not to mention their dedication and patience with these unsettled children which I believed during the process of these creations won't even sit still on their chairs. Still, out of the mess they had made, the teachers bring out the best from them, and for that am so grateful to have them as my son kindergarten teachers.
What have they done to make it happen ?
First they took the children to the building and explored all the important details :
the stone, the colors, the onion domes, the irregular grid..
"The windows of the Waldspirale, which number over 1000, are all unique: no two windows are the same. Similarly, different handles are attached in each apartment to the doors and windows. Some of the apartments are decorated in Friedensreich Hundertwasser's personal style and exhibit the colorful tiles in the bath and kitchen that are characteristic of his work. Furthermore, all the corners are rounded off in these apartments along the roof and walls in an application of Hundertwasser's dogma "gegen die gerade Linie"[2][3] or "against the straight line.".

Then..they practice it on the papers, the colors copies of the building pictures...
added a little bit colorful stones on it..and waited for any stunning ideas came out from the children..
After that...they start to made it real..they start to paint on the canvas
and put real stones on it like what you have seen above.
Next they sent an invitation to the parents...
While they were preparing the arts exhibition of the works our children had made..
and of course the parents came with the happchen and snacks..
and was surprised to see such amazing works and creative presentation..
that the teachers and our children had put into...
It was one of the best 'being a parent' moment...
I can assure you we come home with swelling heads over so much proud of our children..
and for that we can not thank the teachers enough...
