I found a piece of paper last night on our dinner table, that paper is belong to my mom. What written in it was a poem...a beautiful one. I would like to share it with you, because it got me thinking somehow..hope you like it too :
Listening
Listen
When I ask you to listen to me and
you start giving me advice...
you have not done what I asked.
When I ask you to listen to me and
you begin to tell me why I shouldn't feel that way..
you are trampling on my feelings.
When I ask you to listen to me and
you feel you have to do something to solve my problems..
you have failed me, strange as that may be..
Perhaps that's why prayer works for some people
Because..God is silent
He doesn't offer advice..or try to fix things
He just listens and trusts you to work it out for yourself
So please, just listen and hear me.
And, if you want to talk, wait a few minutes for your turn
and..I promise..
I will listen to you.
(Anonymous from the book Children in Crises)
This piece of poem..reminds me to listen to other people more
rather than talk all the time. While I know silence is golden..I prefer say little is more appropriate for my character..(*wink)...Because I like to share things with people, I like exchanging stories with friends and families..I like chit chat-ing about nothing...however I do agree of one thing :
"if you can't say something nice to others, then say nothing at all"
(quoted from thumper's mom, in Bambi d movie).
