Going green has been a trendy topics in Jakarta lately. A lot of people think of a way to be more environmentally friendly nowadays, which is good. In Europe the go green campaign has become part of the lifestyle, for example they try to minimize the usage of plastic bags. While in Jakarta, only certain people are aware of the environmental problem. Here in Jakarta, supermarkets try to introduce environmental friendly shopping bags with various design, hoping shoppers are attracted to use them. One of the supermarket even collaborate with an Indonesia well known fashion designer, Adjie Notonegoro to create a chic green bag for their customer and it cost only Rp. 25.000.

The problem is after they bought it, will people go to buy groceries bringing this bag ? I have such optimism that people in Jakarta do care about their environment.
